A paradise venue that’s straight off a postcard, and huge Australian music acts that go hard. Over the past four sold-out Castaways, we've made serious party with Peking Duk, Sticky Fingers, Golden Features, SAFIA, What So Not, Benson and more - “We’re gonna need a bigger island!” quickly became the Castaway team’s catch-cry, as twice a year the good-times crew flocked to Thompson’s Bay - on Rottnest, an island paradise off the coast of W.A. - by the boatload  - in the process turning our cosy little island soiree into the most talked-about beach bash this side of the Indian Ocean!

Those warm, sexy, summer days are starting to sidle up to us, and hot on their heels is the fourth instalment of Perth's favourite island festival, Castaway. Yup, the time has come yet again to make best mates with someone who has an epic boat, and sail on over to Castaway to let the Rottnest times roll! Party maestros Metric Events (Wonderland, Jack Rabbit Slim’s, Father) and Zaccaria Concerts & Events (Bjorn Again, Cold Chisel, Stevie Wonder), are stoked to announce the next Castaway on Sunday, December 11, with an absolute ripper of a line-up, featuring some of Australia’s most successful music exports right now:

Anyone who was there for their heart-wrenching, knee-shaking stadium performance at Splendour In The Grass last month knows the huge electrifying energy GANG OF YOUTHS are capable of - Castaway are stoked to welcome the ballsy balladeers to the oceanfront stage, to make us tremble with tracks from their brilliant five-ARIA-Award-nominated debut album, The Positions, and recent EP, the Arcade Fire-esque marvel Let Me Be Clear (that went straight to #1 on the iTunes chart on the day of its release - huge). It will be a homecoming set for the boys, who will spend the remainder of this year abroad recording their next album - Castaway will be one of only a handful of festivals GoY will play over the Australian summer, and we’d hazard a guess the only festival on an island paradise.

For real, Brisbane singer-songwriter JARRYD JAMES is a king-hitter in the pop world right now – the certified platinum artist has been on a steady ascent to the top of the charts both at home and abroad, and we're so lucky to have him on the island to sing for us at Castaway, chasing up his sold-out tours across Europe and the US. Come and be enthralled by James’ incomparable, live vocal chops - his killer moody single Do You Remember and recent collaboration with BROODS vocalist Georgia Nott, 1000x, are sure to be spine-tingling highlights of the day.

Also packing a 'fun punch' at Castaway - the BAG RAIDERS boys! The Sydney duo's infectious, radiant electronic-pop has long held a place in Aussie club music lovers’ hearts, and their recent single Checkmate, and live Falls Festival performance, reveals them in as fine form as ever in 2016. The producers have been touring with a live band of late, so expect a dynamic, re-energised performance of classic anthems like Shooting Stars.

Holding it down on the local front will be Perth producer PALACE, a man who knows his way around a smooth, chilled-out future beat or two. Palace joins us following sets at Southbound and Groovin’ the Moo, and co-signs from Paces, Slumberjack, Sable and Crooked Colours. His breakthrough hit, the emotive electronic ballad, Can’t Stop, featuring Godwolf, and his killer Duke Dumont Ocean Drive remix, are tunes just made for Castaway’s seashore dancefloor.

+ we have one more special talent playing that we can't tell you about yet - but soon!

Castaway's the only WA festival to truly make the most of the Australian summer beach lifestyle we all live for: sea-breeze in your hair, brilliant blue waters, beers on the beach, a spectacular sunset… and to top it all off, a concert stage back-dropped by bobbing boats, with the cream of the Australian contemporary live music scene smashing out epic sets. Escape the rat race for a day on the island!
